Great Movie but...

i just watched the movie and i really enjoyed it. but the thing that bothers me about it is the accents were all wrong... I live here in Southeastern Louisiana almost directly between New Orleans and Baton Rouge. and we just simply dont talk that like. Don't get me wrong we do have accents but the Southeastern Lousiana accent sounds nothing like the Southern draw accent most of the actors used in this film..

I can understand why they might of done it that way because here if you drive for 20 mins the accents slightly change....lol kind of the same way people of New York can tell the difference between Long Island, and Staten Island, Brooklyn, Queens, etc.... So i can see why they would take the easy way out...

other than that, it was a pretty good movie.

I agree. My father and brother live in NOLA and I did not understand the overstated accents in the film. But when films are made about Texas, the accents are usually WAY off as well. It must be a southern thing.

1) Southern accents are among the hardest to replicate.
2) This movie is not set in the modern day.

the character Willie Stark and his people are from Northern Louisiana, not down near NOLA and Baton Rouge.
