Aaltra or poledancing?

I have a dilemma, I have recently been learning poledancing as a hobby, and have gotten quite good at it. One of my friends has become an instructor. She has invited me to a poledancing party/lesson tomorrow night.

However I have arranged with my mate to go to see Aaltra tomorrow night, as that is the only night it is on. This would not be the first time I have cancelled at the last moment on this particular mate, and I was reminded about it for weeks afterwards last time. I can't really cancel on him again.

But can I pass up the opportunity to go to this poledancing party/lesson (where I would get in free!) I like the sound of it. It's not just poledancing- it's a PARTY!

How good is Aaltra?

This reply comes a bit laste for your dilemma - so I hope you made the right decision. I am trying to base decisions on principles. In this case, if I really wanted to go to the party would have a conversation with the friend who invited me to see Aaltra, asking if they would really be OK about it if I went to the party. It's like: thinking about the friend - would they be happy to see the film by themselves?

As for Aaltra I really liked it - I went to see it by myself - but I don;t mind doing that. I know some people who only go to the cienma as a social thing with friends. Anyway I wouldn't base any decision on someone else's recommendation - especially someone I don't know on the Internet ;-)

What happened - what did you decide? If you saw Aaltra - did you like it?

I went for a third option. My brother phoned me at midnight Thursday and told me he was coming down to meet up. I made my apologies to Lindsay and begged off poledancing, and my mate I was going to the cinema with came out on a bender with me and my brother.

I found out the reason Lindsay keeps inviting me all over the place is cos she's trying to make me meet her boyfriend. She decided that I'm going to be his new best friend. That's just kind of scary.

So I never got to see Aaltra, though I will be buying it on DVD eventually.

It was a messy weekend and I'm left feeling very guilty

OK - sounds a difficult one for sure. When you do get the DVD it would be interesting to hear what you think.
