Rang De Basanthi Vs. Legend of Bhagat Singh?

Which one touched you the most?

An onion can make people cry, but there is no vegetable invented to make them laugh.

I should say "The Legend of Bhagat Singh" was more touching. Both are extremely good movies and Rang de has an entertainment factor to it as well and is more current, where as Legend deals with the real thing. I have never seen a bollywood historical so thoroughly researched and so well executed. Hats off to Santoshi for Legend.

Honestly! They had many historical advisors even Bhagat Singhs own brother!
Patriotically Legend affected me, but the loss of youth really struck hard in RDB

Rang De Basanti portrays about loss of today's youth interest in politics and patriotism. It depicts and encourages that it is necessary for youths to participate in politics and have their say. It compares life-style of today's youth (who are more drowned into relax mood, non-caring, and let alone happen whatever is happening and not to bother with what's happening around [myself as well]) with youths in 1930's like Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, Rajguru and many others who desired to change the government system which they felt was doing *wrong, and took desired actions against the betterment and progress for the country.

The way of portraying 'The Legend of Bhagat Singh' film is more of documentary than film. Exceptionally good, and very awakening film. It concentrates on displaying more truth and facts of government system (British Government) ran during British Rule and how they behaved with Indians. The movie showcases the action the youth took, which they thought was right.

*I am not saying that what British Government did was right, but my point of view to say is that youths before independence took courage in doing what they felt right, and was right in others perspective as well.

Even today's we are celebrating 60th Anniversary of India's Independence, but I think that India is still not Fully Independent. Then India was ruled by Britishers, whose government created injustice and caused fights among different class of people. Today India is ruled by Illiterated Wealthy People, and they form same government as it was before Independence, just it is formed by ruled people from same land, whereas in older days it was britishers.

What is the difference? Is India Independent or still Dependent?

reply

India is still Dependent on Illiterate (uneducated, brainless) people from the cinema industry, Street gangs, Mafia members, high caste members, religious fanatics, human leeches, heartless money minded and corrupt rich politicians (who stole from the poor and lower middle class society). These *@%$# morons rule India, which by the way is not so very different form many other developing nations around the world.

The Indian people are dependent and don’t really mind to be in that position either, as it suits their way of life. They don’t want unnecessary trouble; they care more about their family situations… Whether there is enough food on the table, or are they able to pay the monthly bills, can their children get into a good college and get proper education and later a well paying job…. That’s what matters to an every day Indian.

An Indian is a nothing but an individual… one person against nearly a billion people. What can one do in such a situation? That’s what the film Rang De Basanti portrayed… Whether an individual… Dj, Karan, Sukhi, Sonia, Aslam or Ajay Rathod can make that stand? Moreover, what can happen if they do?

Rang De Basanti is just an imaginary film story… Its not real, and if that’s the case, then does that mean such an event is impossible to take place? That’s where the Legend of Bhagat Singh comes in…. These legendary Indian Warriors, Freedom fighters were the very evidence, which states that possibility…. When we were in need, they took a stand and fought off the British as much as they possibly could.

We are in a great need of such Indians currently…. They are not many out there as of now. All we have is the film Rang De Basanti…. Its like a dream, a wish by those involved with the film making… asking the rest of the India to grant them, to make that dream into a reality.

Will they day of true democracy arrive (without any of those morons I mentioned earlier involved in the rule of our government)? I wish it to arrive at least in my life time.

Both amazing and incredible movies. I have an edge for Legend of Bhagat Singh, but it's amazing the way the two movies work so well together - as if they were both meant to be watched together.
