Universal Appeal

In my opinion the movie has a universal appeal....crossing all the bounderies of country...

This film has about as much appeal as gonorrhea. It sucked period. It should never have been made. The whole time I spent watching it, I was thinking to myself 'how much more entertaining would it be if I contracted small pox'.

Woah that's some harsh remarks dude

Maybe it is a little harsh. I think I'm more mad at myself than anything. I mean, I'm stupid enough to keep sitting through Indian movies expecting that they'll be good. I've only been surprised by an Indian movie twice (as opposed to the hundreds of times I've been disappointed). In the end, I may have learned my lesson as I no longer even attempt to watch Indian movies.

"I've only been surprised by an Indian movie twice"

Which ones? Maybe you just haven't watched the good ones...there are lots of good ones, but TONS of bad ones. I'm just curious to which you saw and liked...

I liked RDB, but not the ending, or I guess the second half, and I didn't like the "imagining they were making the movie or in the movie thing they did..." (the back and forth thing, in and out of reality), but I really liked the acting and the characters and the chemistry and some of the music was great, and I thought it was shot very well.

I've seen almost all of the famous Indian movies. The only ones I liked were "Munna Bhai M.B.B.S." and "Dil Chatha Hain". I've hated every other Indian movie... I guess Devdas (shah rukh's version) was okay (but not good). "Sholay" (considered by many to be the best Indian movie ever) sucked. And the only decent actors ever to come out of Bollywood are Sanjay Dutt and Amir Khan. All the women stars suck as do all the other male stars. They have no talent whatsoever (I mean have you seen Aishwariya's English movies?). Almost all of their movies are complete rip offs of American movies. I can't begin to count how many Indian movies I've seen where even the dialog is completely plagiarized. And worst of all, they take credit for the movie as their own. Basically the writers have no talent and simply steal their material.

Why watch famous movies? not all famous movies are good. and have you watched movies like Guide, Pyaasa(guru dutt), Swades, Lagaan, Satya, lage Raho munnabhai, Khosla Ka ghosla. These are ORIGINAL. And how can you say Sholay sucked? Did you go with a prejudice? Cause i dont know how you determine because of some copycats that the entire industry sucks? Clearly you have yet to see some REALLY good bollywood movies.

reply

Yes, I've seen Swades, Lagaan, Lage Raho Munna-bhai, Khosla Ka Ghosla. Do you honestly think LRMB was good? It was a pathetic attempt to capitalize on the success of the first movie. Lagaan was boring. Khosla Ka Ghosla was a stupid movie, but it had one good song, Chak De Phattey. Sholay was not entertaining whatsoever, and I HATE Amitabh. His son is ten times worse than him.

Good movies are obviously the exception rather than the rule anywhere (india, japan, thailand, america). But it seems as though the exceptions in bollywood film come along much less commonly than movies from other countries. I will admit that "Munna Bhai M.B.,B.S." was a REALLY good bollywood film. It was good even by hollywood standards.

No Smoking, It was really good but I'm really not sure if its "copied" or inspired from some other movie, If its Original work then it rocks too.

thinking about some other names
