Just saw this film being in the top 250 list. Though, it may be out of the list in a jiffy but YOU can certainly help this being in the list for a sustainable period, because this film deserves to be watched by the global audience. What say? ;-)
shareI was completely taken aback by it's presence, at #249 none the less. It has a certain mass appeal but, talk about a jiffy, it didn't even last a couple of days on the list. Anyway, it shows a generally positive trend towards Indian cinema.

The current rating of rdb is 8.1, and you currently need at least an 8.2 to get on the top 250 with at least 6,000 votes. There are already 6000 votes, so its just a matter of getting it up 1/10 of a point to get rdb onto the top 250.
Usually, I don't mind where a movie stands, but rdb is definitely better than a considerable number of movies on that top 250 list, and I'm pretty sure many people believe it belongs in that list. Also, its so close, so why not. It would be nice to have an indian film in the top 250 for more than just a temporary amount of time.
Is RDB the only hindi movie ever in 250 list ?? Do we have other examples also ??
shareBased on the logic given by someone current list of 250 has 8.2 as the bottom vote but RDB has 8.1 and the current bottom in IMDB is only 8.0.
in terms of vote as well RDB has considerable voting percentage.
Still why it is not in 250. Please be a regular voter on IMDB to let your vote count.

where:
R = average for the movie (mean) = (Rating)
v = number of votes for the movie = (votes)
m = minimum votes required to be listed in the Top 250 (currently 1300)
C = the mean vote across the whole report (currently 6.8)

I'm glad I take note of the imdb top 250 frequently, because I would have missed this movie. I just watched it tonight and really liked it. I didn't think it sounded very interesting, but the characters really came alive in it, which made me all the more invested while watching.
And in terms of Hindi films in the imdb top 250, more recently this year there was a 2009 movie called Dev.D that appeared for a few days. I watched that one too, and liked it. They both had awesome music!!

This is undoubtedly one of the best films from India.In fact , its among the best in the world. I would personally place it at the top of Indian films.

I wont say RDB is the best Indian film but i am longing to see an Indian film in the top list.Swades should be my first preference,Considering a Bollywood film.
The mínimum number of votes to enter the list is 25,000. This benefits popular films instead of Little seen jewells, but still there are two indian films in the top250: 3 Idiots and Taare Zameen Par. Sincé only votes from regular users count Rang De Basanti isn't featured in the top 250, but as I write this it is located in the TOP 500 (only available for IMDbpro users) at the 347 place.

Now along with this movie there are 3 other Indian movies in the list. Coincidentally all 4 are of Aamir Khan. Taare Zameen par tops at around 120's, followed by a few ranks down 3 Idiots and a few more ranks down RDB. Lagaan is somewhere in 180's.

Andaz Apna Apna has 8.7 but needs more than 10 000 more votes :(
