Who is the director in the AFI tribute to Z Channel extra?

There's a a short (3:36) clip on the bonus disc about the 1987 AFI Tribute to Z Channel. Stuart Cooper is interviewing directors on a dais in front of the screen. He starts with James B. Harris, and continues to Kris Kristofferson, James Woods and Oliver Stone. I recognize his face but am coming up blank on a name for the director who tells the story of Z Channel saving his life because he only sleeps 2-3 hours a night. Anyone know?
