rip off

there are no good new movies anymore.. they're all just rip-offs of other movies. this ones a rip-off of madagascar, and there's another movie comming out (can't remember the name) that is a rip-off of both of them! it's absolutly rediculuous!

reply

I wasn't aware that the definition of "rip-off" had been changed.

The Wild was in production long before Madagascar. Just cause it came out afterwards has nothing to do with the production schedule.

reply

think what you want, but it's still a rip off

reply

haha, think what you want, but I know this movie was definitely in development before Madagascar.

reply

suuure you know the director. Do you know how many people post saying that they know all these ppl in show biz when they really don't? you're just another one of those ppl.

reply

I love the internet.

No, his father's name isn't Dickwad.

Good guess though.

What is that, Polish?

reply

This seems to be more of rip-off of Finding Nemo, with several variations.

This statement is false.

reply

it seems someone *cough*fanatic02* has a stick up their............ yeah.

Pontius Pilate: Stwike him, Centuwion. Stwike him vewy wuffly!

reply

I thought it was way better than Madagascar anyway. I did find that it has similarities to The LION KING. Certain shots and characters, colors, angles etc. But I thought it was a pretty good movie.

reply

yeah.. if you think I have a stick up my ass that's fine.. you people take things way too seiously over movies.. it's pathetic

reply

That is the point of these message boards!!!! To debate and discuss films

thank you "the racounteurs fan". The point in to discuss but not pretend you know someone you don't. and you people act as if these are life or death matters or something

reply

Yes the point of these message boards is to discuss the film. And that is what Derek was discussing....his knowledge of the film's timeline due to the fact that he knows the director. At least that is what the discussion consisted of before people logged on with the sole purpose to insult and ridicule people they don't know. There is no life or death situation. It is merely a matter of defending your standpoint especially when your argument surrounds the film and not the intelligence of another poster.

reply

this is rediculous. I'm out.. think what you want.

reply

You hear that people? We're allowed to think what we want!

Democracy wins again!

What facts? You have only expressed your own opinions sugar coated in insults because you can't come up with concrete evidence to prove otherwise. The wild was in production first. Regardless of what people think is the better movie there will always be the fact that Madagascar was the rip-off. The rest is up to the individual. Calling people losers does not constitute a justifiable claim.

reply

Your facts are a little .... askew].

the_racounteurs_fan Said:
god you people keep saing that you losers madagascarr came out early 05 this piece of crap was in production way be for v for vendetta 06 like in late 06 gosh face the facts

How is it possible that The Wild was "in production in late 2006", when it came out in April 2006? April, I might add, is before May, the month Madagascar came out (which is apprently early in the year by comparison, by your bizarre calendar).

Here are some more interesting FACTS for you:

Dreamworks Animation SKG was co-founded by a fellow named Jeffery Katzenburg, who once held a high level position at Disney, and left due to a feud with Micahel Eisner, the then CEO. When he left he knew about some of Disney's upcoming films, and either just because he liked the ideas, or as a big "Screw you" to Eisner, he made movies with similar premises at his new company, Dreamworks. (Ex: Antz and A Bugs Life, Armageddon and Deep Impact).

C.O.R.E., the company that animated the Wild, regularly employs around 200 people, and for the purposes of this movie, had to double their numbers to 400 just to finish. Infact C.O.R.E. did not have a feature film devision until 2003, when its contract with Disney over this movie gave it that chance.

Dreamworks regularly employs more than 1200 people. So yeah, go figure that C.O.R.E. might take a bit longer.
