Proving the rule that the more an adult likes a movie the less a young child will, and vice versa. I would prefer Madagascar, and my kids are OK with it, but they really love all the more childish (and annoying) things about The Wild.
I've come to think its a shame that Dreamworks rushed Madagascar out (ripping off The Wild) to ruin this movie.
It is way better than Madagascar. I used to be obsessed with this movie, and I hated Madagascar with passion for ripping it off -_-

completely agree.. Madagascar 1 & 2 are both terrible. The Wild is a much better film.

It could easily just be a case of different animation styles, it's nothing new. Are you trying to say any animated movie with a less realistic style was rushed?

Not necessarily, but the fact that they choose a style easier to animate makes me wonder about it in lieu of the proximity of the two films' release.

I always found the Madagascar style of animation as a tribute to old Looney Tunes cartoons.
