DOWN WITH MADAGASCAR

The wild began production before Madagascar, but Madagascar stole the wild's ideas and realeased it earlier, so that when the wild was realeased, everybody blew it off and now people are badmouthing the wild, saying that THE WILD stole the idea from Madagascar, and making it look bad!!! The wild is animated better, and it has a better storyline anyway!!! DOWN WITH MADAGASCAR!!!

I agree.

i think it's a stupid movie, regardless of the fact it came out first. at least madagascar was at least funny in some parts. i didnt even laugh through the wild, and the whole plot is stupid, a complete waste of money, time, actors, and expensive animation.

Dreamworks owes me $5 and an hour and a half of my time for watching Madagascar. It wasn't worth my effort. What would I do with the time and money returned to me?.....watch the wild

Madagascar sucked Pterodactyl ball

Let it never be said that you are uncreative. Thats definitely one I've never heard before. And you actually bothered to spell pterodactyl properly. I'm impressed.

Madagascar was better though, and i thought the animation was great. Its animation that the point its not supposed to look real. The story line in the wild was stupid, it was finding nemo all over again.

I disagree. I thought Madagascar's animation looked blocky. The storyline was great in The Wild. It's alot better than Madagascar's "I want to be free for really no reason at all". And although it made people laugh, that's not what a story's about. Then again, these days, what do people know about storytelling?

Madagascar's story/animation made the movie look rushed to production

im a crazy, rabid squirrel! I WANT MY COOKIES!

reply

madagascar was way better trust me on that the whole movie and everybody in it were funny as a mutha-f

but finding nemo had a great storyline so therefore the wild has a great storyline.

reply

i was appalled by 'madagascar'. i sure hope 'the wild' is better. i shudder to think it could be worse!

I enjoyed The Wild more then I did Madagascar, which I figured I would. I shown more interest when I saw previews to The Wild then I did with the other movie.

They both weren't very good in my opinion. Although, I liked it how Marty and Alex were running to one another in slow motion and "Chariots of Fire" was playing.

Madagascar 2 was announced like, a day after Madagascar 1 hit theatres.
The animals from Madagascar are also going to be making cameo appearances in Dreamworks' upcoming movie "Kung Fu Panda".

reply

I loved both of movies. I find them different, but I do see many similarities as well. Who cares though, they're movies, and I think both of them are great.

reply

I've watched both of them, and I think that The Wild is better. But I kinda understand why not many people like it, coz maybe it's not so funny. But the storyline was great. The animation was better from Madagascar too.

reply

I am glad that many people agree with me.

I wasn't too impressed with Madagascar the first time I saw it, but it grew on me. I have a 3-year-old daughter who watches the same movies over and over, and I've seen Madagascar at least 50 times. Although I don't sit captivated every time it's on, I don't mind it.

Unfortunately, I can't say the same for The Wild. I didn't think it was a bad movie (and I was happy that my daughter was watching something new so I was feeling very receptive toward it), but it hasn't grown on me the way Madagascar, and other movies have.

My vote goes to Madagascar.

reply

I honestly don't like either that much, but Madagascar was better. A lot better. I laughed a little in Madagascar, but in The Wild, I didn't laugh at all.
I thought the Wild was really stupid. The plot was an almost identical copy of "Finding Nemo." I mean, the kid rebells, he gets sent somewhere far away, so they dad has to rescue. Same plot. Except finding nemo is a good movie, the wild sucked.
I was surprised the Wild made it to theathers; i would of thought it would of went strait to DVD.

I haven't seen Madagascar yet so I can't comment on that

However this movie was friggin hilarious, made zero sense but I was so entertained the factual errors (lots) didn't bother me much. But whoever said this movie is strictly for kids is way off, so many of the jokes would go over any kids heads and I swear there were parts in this movie that made you think the writers were smoking something real strong

Not to be contrary or anything, what does it matter anyhow, but I found that I agree with other posters who mentioned Madagascar looking blocky and all that.

I'm sick to my stomach of the likes of B.Stiller, Schwimmer, and more pointed, C. Rock. I can't stand any of these chumps, or perhaps it's the animation style.
I thought, for what it's worth, that The Wild looked so much better and was the perfect movie for my 3 yr old son. I'll admit it though that it wasn't very original, if at all, now that I've read more comments.
Being a Canadian, I liked Don Cherry as the penquin curling play by play caller.

Actually Madagascar started production 20 years ago, because they said they started when Ben Stiller was 14. (seems Like a lie),but that's what they said.

I like the penguins tho....

No matter what movie review site you read, they will give a ton of reasons (most of which I agree on) why Madagascar is better than the Wild without mentioning which came first. Although I don't hate Wild (its still good on its own merits), its obvious why there will be a Madagascar 2 as opposed to a Wild 2. I'm not attacking anyone's personal beliefs...just how it is.

Unless you think that "have a nice day" song was awesome and HILARIOUS! I didn't. And the whole "great him" scene was the driest comedy written for a kid's movie, ever, hands down. We had kids over throughout this movie, and they didn't laugh at all...as opposed to Madagascar, in which they enjoyed thoroughly. They also liked Chicken Little (disney) and hated Shark Tale (dreamworks). They aren't biased.

Personally, I liked the Wild a lot, but it just wasn't a laugh-fest. Just a good movie, overall...especially the father-son moments later in the movie. But another part that was uninterestingly lame was the ending fight scene and he finishes it with a sonic roar...? Or the dancing...if this movie is going to be compared to a realistic-sense animal movie, I don't think the animals should be break-dancing like humans. And even if this movie was in production before Madagascar, they seemed to copy the credits from Madagascar....like I said...just my personal beefs...not stepping on your toes.

reply

I agree totally. While The Wild had some humorous moments (and more "realistic" animation), Madagascar was a much better movie. The whole wildebeast gone mad thing didn't do much for me, and several parts of the movie seemed to drag on forever.

Much like Ice Age, the squirrel added the best comic relief (I found his line "I'm 9 inches actually" hilarious - gotta throw some adult humor in the toonz). The chameleons (sp) added some humor, but neither of these could compare to the penquins in Madagascar. The music was much better in Madagascar as well.

As another parent mentioned, with young children, you end up watching the same movies over and over. The Wild is OK (and my daughter likes it), but just doesn't have the staying power of Madagascar.
