Even Richard Linklater the director says in the films commentary that even though its sending a message about drugs it is totally a movie for stoners.

All I see on here is people saying, "You don't need drugs to watch this...its better and more coherent when you're sober. This movie is against drug users."

Fck that SHT, sorry but thats a load of crap. I am a pot head. I smoke a lot of weed and let me tell you.......this is one of the BEST Fcking movies to watch high. The animation, the trippy visuals and music. The camaraderie and casual dialogue about drugs, love and life is totally for the stoner mentality.

This is not for the sober little shts who complain and make a crusade against drug users. This IS FOR DRUG USERS.

The only way to get the most out of this movie from personal experience is to be high. Weed primarily being the best choice. Connecting to the characters on a level that you relate too and where you feel intertwined and connected to the story.

PS- please for the love of God people don't listen to these sober bums who have no life. They no nothing about tripping out and vibing to a good visual film. Fck em.

Daammnn, I feel singled out as sht. There has to be someone else out there that feels the same way?

I completely agree with you dude, like, man. Anyone who says they like this film without getting high is just lying. I think those people probably watched a different movie to you and I. Like weed is ok but the guys in this movie take a drug made from tiny blue flowers which makes them experience the world through disconnected synapses. So you gotta trip out on those little blue flowers. If you can't get any little blue flowers, why not smoke a whole load of crack? I'm sure that would enhance the visual experience if this film. In fact why not inject a pound of crack into the corner of your eyeball? You know it makes sense.
