Need info on a scene I missed

The theater where I saw Reel Paradise messed up the alignment of the projection so that the subtitles weren't visible. Can anyone tell me what the Fijians were saying in that short section where the teenage Fijian was talking about her family and her family was interviewed as well. I'm writing about this movie and really need to know what was said. Any info will help. Thanks!

Where did you see this? And where are you writing about this for?

Are you asking about Georgia's friend Miriama where it shows her parents sitting crosslegged cooking? Miriama talks about how much she likes being at the Pierson's house. She says that when the Pierson's fight - it's just "talk talk" but when her parents fight they punch each other. The parents aren't interviewed in this scene. Georgia talks a bit about Miriami - about the scar on her face from when her father hit her. Not sure if this is the scene you mean. There's also a scene where Tawake (wyatt's friend) and his mother speak which is subtitled.

If you have further questions - write to: [email protected].

Thanks for the info. That does help. In response to your questions, I saw the film at Act 1 + 2 theater in Berkeley, CA, and I'm writing a paper on it for a graduate film seminar at the University of California at Berkeley.

Bourgeoisie? This family was anything BUT bourgeoisie, even compared to Fijians.

lol, i missed that scene too because i had captions on with low volume. so when the captions ceased and there were no subtitles, for some reason i thought they would be showing this movie in fiji as well and it would be in half english and half fijian, lol, i didn't know they were filming the last weeks of them living there.
