... it was bugging me all the way through as to who Wiesler reminded me of. I realised once I'd finished watching it: I think it may be Robin Williams' character in One Hour Photo. There's something about the intensity/look/isolatedness that strikes me as similar.

... Ulrich Mühe was great, nice and understated to a tee. Being watched all the time. Having to be in total control at every moment; one false facial movement, and even his colleagues would have found him out.
