i have a question. SPOILERS

My thoughts exactly upon watching this. Where were the social workers? Then again they did let her walk out of the hospital on her merry way after swallowing copious amounts of pills, and then again after they thought she attempted suicide a second by trying to jump under a train. Never mind the hundreds of times she exhibited what must have seemed psychotic breaks to those around her.

And the other one makes her her baby's godmother?

OK, I just watched and I couldn't agree more! Also, is Mrs. Chow (her friend with the father for a son) nuts? Making the crazy suicidal lady her child's godmother?? WTF?

Also, my favorite part is when she's clambering up the stairs, and the ghost woman is just standing there, watching her struggle. Couldn't she have saved a lot of time giving her the "please save me from this life by letting me be reborn" discussion then, instead of waiting until she jumped off the building TWICE? Sounds a little vindictive to me.

Well, she spoke to the doctors and social workers in the hospital and said she didn't mean to kill herself. She was probably there for longer than just a day. I know people who have attempted suicide and they're usually let out in the same amount of time depending upon how cooperative they are. As for the train incident she clearly stated she thought she saw someone jumping in front of the train. They confirmed that she was on her way to a doctor's appointment which wouldn't fit if she simply went out to kill herself and they also believed that her pregnancy was causing her to maybe see things or overreact to things she thought she saw. Beyond this point they didn't really have a reason to think she was entirely crazy. After the intended rape they may have seen any further behavior as her suffering from both that trauma as well as her pregnancy.
