THIS MOVIE IS A DISGRACE

Both African and Irish Americans should be insulted. This movie make African-Americans look clownish and ignorant. I also find it disturbing that the actors playing Irish weren't even Irish. Maybe that's a good thing though, a true Irish man wouldn't have wanted to star in such dribble. This had the potential of being a really good movie, too bad it went to the lowest denominator. The dumbing down of America at it's best.

Stereotypes abound in this one! However, none could be any more blatant
than Eddie Griffin's character.

You have got to be kidding me!!!! This movie was intended to be a romantic comedy!!!! And they succeeded with flying colors imho. You people who criticize this movie cause of the stereotypes need to get a grip and lighten up!! For crying out loud why can't you just enjoy the movie for what it's worth!!! This movie is an awesome and I enjoyed watching it....my dad enjoyed watching it.....my mom enjoyed watching this movie........so did my sister and brother and guess what.......WE ARE ALL BLACK!!!!!! This movie is only a disgrace to people too uptight and wrapped up in themselves to have a sense of humor and enjoy a movie without whinning about it's meaning.

Yeah, of course you liked it...you're black. The biggest insult was towards Irish people. This sh*t film reminded me of Black Knight (with that racist A-hole, Martin Lawrence). They take these arogant, no-talented black characters from America and drop them in Europe. Then, by some amazing miracle, the black guy outwits everyone, attracks the local girls, attempts to make them feel inferior because of how they talk (then trying to teach them his moronic 'ghetto' slang) and saves tha day at the end. Yeah, that's not offensive, if you're black. If they made a film about a white guy going to Africa and then making fun of their local customs, language etc., you blacks would be the biggest crybabies. I guess double standards are ok with you, huh? Dummy.

You are just saying that because the actor is black but really it's a stereotype about America. Which is kind of true. I'm Portuguese American and been to Europe, over there you never see people talk the way we do here. The way we talk (those of us from the city and many areas) is shocking to other countries. We are desensitized. We swear a lot, and do things that other countries would thing is shocking. I remember a Portuguese relative coming here and when I showed her a picture of me with green hair and she let out a scream! She almost passed out. My cousins kept asking me what was going on because the police sirens go on about 20 times an hour. I told them that is normal and they were shocked. Americans are very rebellious and we do what we want very often. We have way more divorces as well as cheaters.

I think the actor could have easily been white but they made him black because they thought that it would be funnier and more obviously shocking to the Irish. I'd love to go to Ireland but I never been there. I do know that if it was Portugal that the people would be just as shocked. And we have black Portuguese people there. No one cares about the color. It's the way you act. Most countries are shocked by us and our movies and media. They see us as trouble makers, and greedy. I just saw Obama's speech where he surprisingly admitted that we are arrogant and think we are the best and that Europe hates us. I said to my mom, it ain't just Europe, every country hates us.
