What did the real Bettie think of this movie?

I had heard that she really didn't like it was extremely distraught after attending a screening at the Playboy mansion. Does anyone know why she didn't like it?

reply

The title. And the fact that she wasn't consulted about just about...everything in the movie.

That's what I heard.

Wasn't she also very religious just before her death ?

Oh Lord, you gave them eyes but they cannot see...

reply

Yes, that's correct. She became a christian zealot in her later years and she had been out of the public eye for decades. She also was afflicted with severe depression and mental illness such that she was institutionalized for periods of her later life. She was quite elderly in 2005. These are good reasons why she wasn't consulted in the film writing process.

Also, I can't find any evidence that she attended the film's screening at the Playboy Mansion. This could well be hearsay, as she would have been 82.

How sad when our society is so immoral, ungodly and classless that having morals is seen as being a zealot. then again, 99% of people bigoted enough to use it never know what it means (that's the point).

Good for Bettie. Changing your ways takes integrity.

No one said having morals = zealot. They said she became a religious zealot. There is a huge difference between that and you just *assumed* they meant anyone who gained morals is a zealot.

Hearsay my ass. Hef himself admits she was at the screening at the Mansion as do Dave Stevens and several others. Check out Bettie Page Reveals All.
