More asian films like this?

Just saw this movie after a tip given on this page, and i had never heard of it.
Loved it btw!!
Beeing a fan of over the top kung fu flicks (well, all good kung fu flicks actually :p), i was wondering if anyone
know of any other asian movies like this thats not so well known.
I`ve seen Crouching Tiger..., Hero, House of flying daggers, Shaolin soccer, Kung fu hustle and so on..
All Jet Li and Jackie Chan of course.

Any movies in the "same" genre as these would be greately appriciated. I like both serious and the ones for simple fun.

Tnx

Just bought Arahan today based on a couple of good reviews I read so haven't watched it yet. If you like over the top martial arts/comedy/horror movies, you could do a lot worse than check out "The Story of Ricky". Its awesome. Well my kids and I loved it anyway! I think the jury is officially out as to whether or not it's a good example of the genre but it's definitely worth 90 minutes of anyones time.

just read some reviews, sounds good. gotta get a hold of it. :)
Thanks

You could check out Versus. One of the coolest movies ever made :)
Its a bit diffrent coz it involves more swordplay and plain action then regular martial arts, but if your into asian movies its defenetly woth checking out.

Saw it about a month ago after a friend told me to get a hold of it.
I agree, it was very cool and different. With lots of bad asses! :)

Shadowless Sword.
It has the same actress from this movie.
Legend of Evil lake is also very good.
And if you really like swords, i reccommend Aragami :D

I haven't seen this movie yet, but I think I can suggest some of Korean film.
Because, I also like Shaolin soccer and Kungfu hustle.
I suggest "WaSanGo (2001) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0301429/"; and "Baramui Fighter (2004) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0416499/";. Wasango was very funny and nice fighting scene.
Baramui Fighter wasn't that funny but it's based on true story. But, I think you might like fighting scene.

It was not Asian film but I would like to suggest other two movies. These are "Danny the dog" and "Banlieue 13". Their fighting scene was quite unique especially Banlieue 13.

If you like arahan, then check out the korean film city of violence directed by the same director. Simple revenge story, but some amazing action scenes, all the way up to an UNBELIEVABLE final battle throughout a resort restaurant.

Also, check out bichunmoo. awesome period wire fu sword play, but depressing as all get out.

Shadowless Sword (not over the top, but beware of some of the costumes, the leads' are great though)
The Twins Effect II (kinda strange)
House of Fury

there's always those 'ancient' tv series, e.g. the return of the condor heroes, lady flower fist, etc.

ooh, Elektra with jeniffer garner isnt asian but american, is good too

Ong-Bak and Warrior King are both musts. The Street Fighter box set - Sonny Chiba. There's a lot out there but you have made a start. 'Master With Cracked Fingers' is my favourite JC film.

reply

You should check out Conduct Zero, its funny as hell, the fights are good and it has the same guy from Arahan as the lead role.

reply

City of Violence is a good one, also suggest Master of the Flying Guillotine if you want over the top.

Tiger on the Beat is a good one with a great chainsaw fight featuring Gordon Liu

but for a real good kung fu flick I suggest "Heroes of the East" Awesome weapons combat and Japanese vs Chinese fights
