So when Theresa shoots the pedo's...

I spontaneously stood up and applauded. I was alone at home when I saw it so nobody saw me do this funny thing, but still. I felt so good after realizing how insane these people were.

That part gave me the creeps. That stayed with me for a day or so. <shudder>

Even if the police managed to track her down, theres not a Jury in the world that would convict her.

reply

The fact that the couple were pedophiles has no bearing on the case. The fact that she called the police moments before shooting them (only making temp calcs more accurate as the police would be there relatively shortly) clearly shows intent.

Plenty of jury members could be found that have no idea the two were pedophiles; and should the defense try to bring it up, call for mistrial start all over again. Possibly even revoke the right to trial by jury due to repeatedly using the very argument that "creates a biased viewpoint in the minds of the jury."

After they catch up with her (and all the prints she left around) she's going to go to prison for a long time!

And of course, a FBI... thing... does not spend 12 years building a case so he can kill everyone off. (And what the hell does that mean, 12 years... he turns 21... somehow gets into the FBI... and almost instantly gets thrown into this mess? New recruits get more responsibilities than old ones?)

Ahh, they'll all get the death penalty.

There is no proof who made the phone call to 911 as she used the pedo's phone and both her and the phone were gone before the police showed up.

"Plenty of jury members could be found that have no idea the two were pedophiles"

Are you for real? A pair of child murderering pedo's killed at their very own "House of Pedophilia and Murder" would have been ALL OVER the news for weeks, and not just local but national and international. A middle aged Pedophile couple from the suburbs that not only murdered scores of young kids but left behind tapes of their crimes. The mainstream TV stations, radio, newspapers and internet would have had an absolute field day with this freak show couple. Good luck finding "plenty" of jurors who had no idea they were child murdering pedo scum. Which cave do you suggest they look in for jury selection? Even if by some fluke 1-2 jurors were found who had never heard that the "victims" were pedophile child murderers, the remaining jurors certainly would have, and jurors have been known to talk to each other in secret behind closed doors. Sure the jury would be instructed not to do so, but human nature being what it is.

"and should the defense try to bring it up, call for mistrial start all over again"

Perhaps but it is possible for a skilled defence team to find a way to introduce the pedophile child murder aspect without facing possibilty of mistrial. It is not exactly without precedent.

"Possibly even revoke the right to trial by jury due to repeatedly using the very argument that "creates a biased viewpoint in the minds of the jury."

Even if the first trial by jury resulted in a mistrial, it does not mean that the 2nd trial would go to trial by judge, that seldoms happens in the USA.

"After they catch up with her (and all the prints she left around) she's going to go to prison for a long time"

Her prints would be found in the appartment but how would that lead police to catch her? There is no other evidence tying her to the scene of the crime, and unless her prints are in some data base, or she gets arrested in the future, the likelhood that "they catch up with her" is quite slim. There is a much greater chance that the murder of the pedo's becomes a cold case. Few people in the general public would care if the killer of pedophile serial child murderers is ever caught, and fewer still would want to see any kind of lengthy prison sentence. The pressure on the police to catch the culprit would be on the low end of the scale.

lolwut.
the whole reason she killed them is because they were pedos. there's no way that little tidbit would be left out.

THEY SHOOTIN'! ah, i made you look.

actually, the fact that they were pedophiles has a major bearing on the case. it is a thing called Motive.
without clear motive, a prosecution would have a very hard time making a case.

as others have noted, a case like this would explode across all media. the internet would go insane, and the network news would lose their minds. you wouldn't be able to take a breath without hearing another fact, tidbit, or opinion on the case. Months and months and months would go by with this still being a front runner on the nightly news. every single development would be national news. Developments to Jon Bonnet Ramsays case still hit national news.

Catching up with her is a possibility. she made no effort to clear her prints that we saw, and the 2 children left there would be able to ID her most likely (assuming they chose to). she did have her own phone, and i believe it was indeed hers that she made the call with. the pedo's phone was still in the bathroom in the cup. Even just having her phone on her would allow the prosecution to make a case of her presence based on cellular tower records (which the defense could argue against, due to the simple fact that cell tower records should NEVER be unmissable, due to how unreliable they are. many places no longer allow them for this reason.) though the police would definitely comb through the phone records of the pedos phone in the bathroom, and find the call to T.

But there is no way for them to prove she wasn't threatened, and killed them in self defense, then called the police afterwards. this defeats the premeditation angle the fictional prosecution would have.

Ultimately, the jury knowing about the couples status as child molesting and murdering predators wouldn't be considered a taint, but an important wealth of information they would need to know, to properly assess the case. Between T's frame of mind at the time of the killing, her fear of the predators, and whether her actions were potentially justified as self defense.

With anything besides a horrible public defender, she would never be convicted, she has too strong a defense.

Ok so that was the best scene it's the reason why I like this movie a lot it frightens the *beep* out of me. Lol. It's so creepy. But I had a question, I had a theory maybe it was implyed in the film idk. But, I know the playroom floor was covered in plastic and I had a feeling the weird colorful shapes were children's blood and they changed the colors to them somehow. I'm led to believe because they were rich dez was a doctor that's how he got all those tools to use. Or the plastic could've been used for whn they killed the children not to get blood on the carpet.

Oh another thing, I believe when the kid is on the phone trying to get help. And we see a shadow with claws in the glass, i don't think in the film that it was real or actually there it was just there to let us know that this place is evil. And these people are bad people.

This is scene so damn intense. Vera is an amazing actress she knows how to get emotional and does a great job at it.

I wish she hadn't shot them; I believe in people having to suffer for their crimes. Killing them gives them release, but prison would have them suffer greatly.

Exactly! And it only takes one Juror to vote not guilty and she goes free. There is no way you would be able to find 12 random people and have each of them vote guilty.

The motive behind Teresa shooting the couple would have been admitted in trial not to mention there was a closet full of DVD's that recorded their crimes. There is also phone records, Oleg called Teresa and said that they two people kidnapped him and were holding him against his will. There would no jury that would have convicted Teresa.
