Also, All Systems Go's song that plays during the opening credits (a cover of Slow's "Have not been the same") features Mark Lanegan (Screaming Trees, QotSA etc) on vocals...

Some of my greatest inspirations of new and un-sexed-up bands are from movies. But a shame that the Cdn ones seem to be missing the soundtrack listings. ie I watched Deluxe Combo or "Love on the side" and there was some good tunes on that movie as well. No listing! I tried to catch them as they FLEW by the screen but that was useless of course. (movie channel , not DVD) Could rent the DVD but that bugs me to pay again just to see the listing. Hey! Maybe I'll tape myself reading them out. Now that'll work! Do I have a tape player? Be right back.

It's funny no one mentioned Rush's Tom Sawyer. Thats the only tune I know in this flick. Yeah I know not many people have seen this which is a shame. I think it's an awesome 2000s canadian comedy.

What is the tune called that sounds like Coldplay?

No words just the soft music can't tell if its a piano or a guitar.. It plays twice in the movie. Once when he first goes into the bar, and again when he's saying goodbye to everyone before leaving in a ship.

Track's called Best Kept Secret by John Kastner, which appears on his solo "Have You Seen Lucky" album. Almost 7 months after the question was asked, but I got there in the end :)
