When your son dies, set up his girlfriend ASAP!

That sounds about right, doesn't it? Forget grieving or time, but maybe a day or two after the funeral, start looking for a replacement for her. That's it!

I was thinking the same thing... I was like WTF

Anyways, the movie was great havent seen the original but I enjoyed this.

I thought the same thing but at the same time I think you're supposed to be able to tell that some time has passed so maybe that's why his mom could do that. But then again I still agree that it's weird that she would try to get her a boyfriend and that she seemed to get over her son's death faster than his girlfriend did.

Well in the original, it was a year after her son's death that she was trying to set her up because even a year after, the girlfriend was still having a really hard time coping with his death. (So maybe this was the same case in the American version, it just wasn't stated as clearly?) However, in the original, I believe (please correct me if I'm wrong) that the boyfriend died because he was sick, not from suicide. I don't know if that makes a difference, but personally I think suicide of a loved one would be more devastating and harder to recover from.

I thought she said he died suddenly, but I could be mistaken.
I was also wondering about when exactly did the Aunt want to hook her up with him.

In the Korean version I remember the mother saying constantly (from the time he met her) that his Aunt wanted to set him up with someone. So it would seem that right after the boyfriend died the Aunt wanted to set her up. I do agree with the guy above me about the sogaeting.

In the original movie the boyfriend died by drowning. Whether or not this was suicide, it can be inferred through the fact that a good portion of the flashbacks took place near the sea, especially as the girl and the aunt are looking out over the water. Also, the girl pushed the boy into the water in order to "save" him.

To me it seems strange that Jordan and Charlie never met begore since her fiance's mother was Charlie's aunt. It doesn't say in the movie for how long Jordan and her fiance have known each other but since they were fiances I guess they must have been a while. And during that time there never was a family gathering where they would meet and the aunt never told Jordan that she had a nephew that looked reminded of her fiance. Far streched I think.

I thought that was really strange. Madness! It took them like 18 months to kiss which drove me mad.

well from the original, ITS BECAUSE he looked just like her first boyfriend...

That's one of the reasons why remaking it in an American version doesn't make sense. The Korean version wasn't about a girl trying to make her boyfriend her bitch. Unless you are Korean, or have experienced Korean Culture, it is very hard to pick up the true meaning of the show. It had such a strong reflection on Korean Culture, which was why the original movie was so beautiful.

In Korea, it is quite common to set people up with each other. They call it "sogaeting". In fact, many couples meet and get married through "sogaeting".

This in my opinion is not movie that can be remade successfully, because "My Sassy Girl" was based totally on Korea.
