What order do I need to play the games in?

I just got the Hitman Trilogy for Playstation 2 today, and I don't know anything about the games, I was just wondering if someone could tell me which order they're supposed to go in?

I'm totally confused because the box makes it look like Blood Money is the first game, and then Silent Assassins and then Contracts. But Hitman 2 is dated 2002, which confuses me because why would the 2nd game come out before first and 3rd game??? And Contracts says 2004, but I thought contracts was the 3rd? I just started on Blood Money cause I think it's the first game.

Oh ok...that's wierd...the box set I got only has those 3 and says it's the whole collection. But thanks for the info.

Codename 47 never came to game consoles. So that's probably why it says that.

Oh ok. Well I guess I've been playing the 3rd or technically 4th game then. Cause I've been playing Blood Money. Does it matter what order you play them in? Could someone summerize for me what the storyline is? Cause that's really what I'm interested in is the storyline. I'm getting the movie on Netflix soon also. I know that Agent 47 is obviously a hitman and gets paid lots of money to kill specific people. But why does he do it? Who is he? Stuff like that.

47 is a clone that was created by Dr. Ort-Meyer. A scientist who wanted to create a perfect human being. 47 is created from DNA from 5 different people. Lee Hong, Pablo Belisario Ochoa, Franz Fuchs, and Arkadij "Boris" Jegorov. Each essentially providing 47 with abilities exceeding that of a normal human.

Codename 47: This game obviously introduces us to 47. At the start it has Dr. Ort-Meyer teaching 47 how to play and eventually releasing him intentionally. He does this so that he can kill his comrades using 47, the 4 other guys mentioned above. Because if memory serves. His comrades find out want he's up to and doesn't take a liking to it or Ort-Meyer just wants to test his project. 47 finds out that the client he's been getting contracts from is from Ort-Meyer himself. He goes to the mental clinic and finds the Doc and snaps his neck.

Hitman 2: 47 is in retirement. Finding refuge in a church in Italy and helping the priest there tend to his garden. Its found out that 47 has emotion because he confesses his sins. After a short time, the priest is captured by an Italian Mafia boss and his hecnhman. 47 comes out of retirement and helps the agency which in turn helps 47 find his friend. This leads up to the first mission. The Mafia bosses' mansion. 47 kills the boss and searches for his friend, he finds nothing. He is later told by Diana from the agency that a priest was taking by a group of people that looked Russian. But since the agency held up its end of the bargain, 47 needs to hold up his side. 47 is sent on a few missions eventually learning that this is a scam brought on by a Russian named Sergei Zavorotko. The brother of Arkadij Jegorov, one of 47's "five fathers". Sergei's plan was to eliminate those who knew about a certain nuke he had purchased. 47 tracks Sergei back to the church in italy and kills the russian. However he loses his friend.

Hitman Contracts: This starts off showing 47 wounded from a job apparently gone bad. His loss of blood has him blacking out off and on. In his blackouts, we find 47 reliving some of his missions. Some the players have seen and some not. A doctor from the agency patches 47 up and later 47. Also it is shown that the police have surrounded the apartment building 47 is staying in. After a time 47 eventually gets up and puts a clean suit on and prepares to face an army of cops. He eventually escapes killing the inspector who was after him in the process.

Blood Money: Here we find a reporter that is granted with an interview with a paralyzed, scarred, former FBI director. Jack (former FBI) despises 47 in that he is a clone and a perfect killing machine. He tells the reporter of how he tracked 47 over a two year period. One mission has 47 at an opera house. After he finishes up that mission we are shown a part of a person who's attire resembles that of a policeman. This policeman pulls out a gun and follows 47. This part leads up the starting scene you see in Contracts where 47 is stumbling to his room. Throughout the game we are shown scenes where Jack is telling the reporter that cloning is bad. He fears that someone will gain the power of creating an entire army of 47's. He also says that the President of the United States wants to legalize it. Something Jack does not want. After several missions its found out that there is a new organization on the block called "The Franchise", its like the agency 47 follows. But these guys are exterminating the agency's assassins to.

On one of the last missions, Diana from the agency tells 47 that they are the only two remaining members and that she is splitting all the remaining money with him. After this brief, 47 goes on his supposedly final mission. He meets up with a few of the Franchises killers and deals with them accordingly and completes his task. After leaving, 47 is abruptly greeted by the clumsy agent Smith. A person whom 47 rescues from time to time. Smith tells 47 of a plot to kill the President and hands him a small bag full of diamonds. Smith briefs 47 telling him that the franchise wants the cloning all to themselves and that the vice president is involved in the plot too. 47 is also told that the "Albino", a extremely talented assassin is going to handle it. 47 finds a way into the Whitehouse and kills the Vice President and the Albino to save the day.

Yeah, anti-climatic, but oh well. I hope this is good enough for you. I recommend that you might want to look it up on the internet to get more detailed information. Also you should know that there is supposedly going to be a Hitman 5.

Yeah that was a really cool detailed summary of the series. It sounds really cool. I wish the 1st one had come out to PS2 so I could play it too.haha Blood Money has been fun so far. I'm at the level where you're at that alcholic clinic or something and you're trying to smuggle that Agent out of there. I can't remember his name though.

But yeah a Hitman 5 will be cool. Sounds like they're kinda 1 in the same a lot of the time though? Kinda the Tekken or Dynasty Warriors series.

I'm looking foreword to seeing the movie. That'll be cool!

Dynasty Warriors suffers from being trapped in the Three Kingdoms era. Every game you're fighting off Cao Cao and his navy at Chi Bi, stopping the Yellow Turban Rebellion, Fighting Dong Zhuo at Hu Lao Gate, and destroying Yaun Shao's forces at GuanDu. They can change the characters, levels, and weapons all they want. But its still roughly the same. With Hitman, I don't think you get that. Each time is different and each time is better than before.

Yeah I can believe that. After playing Blood Money a bit, I started playing the 2nd game and I was bored.lol
