Your Favourite Level!

What is your favourite level in any of the Hitman games?

Although 'Hitman 2' is better than 'Contracts', my favourite level of all time is the one at the English Manor house in 'Contracts'.

It's the most atmospheric and open ended level ever! Suffocating with a pillow! Poisoning Milk! Dropping a petrol can down the fireplace!

I love it!

Man I could never figure out what to throw down the fire place. i thought it was whisky. But I like the level where we are in the big hotel.

Although i have not played the original hitman: codename 47 game, i have really enjoyed the two ps2 hitman games. Really enjoyed Hitman 2 with the heroic type music and the wide variety of levels and ways of dispatching the targets. But i liked Contracts even more for the more moody atmosphere, achieved by way of lighting, music and content of the game. I mean The Beldingford Manor level is an example of what i mean. Hard rain with a dull miserable feel outside, then a warm glow as you enter the mansion and the suitable music for the english level. The same goes for other levels, such as the first level with the depressingly monotonous, bare walls of the asylum, confused mental patients(even more so with guns going off) and the painful churning music to the level. But the most enjoyable aspect of the hitman games is playing to attain the silent assassin rating, by way of repeatedly playing levels over and over again, planing your route ahead and noticing new things everytime you play. Then having gained the silent assassin rating on a level, i find it equally entertaining to attain the mass murderer rating in the levels. Thus my three fevourite levels to attain the mass murderer on a level are in no particular order:

1)The slaughter house level(sorry forgot the exact name). Killing all the guards before dealing with the guests, who will wrythe in agony.

2)Traditions of the Trade. Just pick out the sniper rifle at the start ofthe level, kill the three cops at the front door, equip dual handed pistols (silver ballers, g17s or cz200s)walk in through the front doors and kill every last cop, staff member and guest in the hotel, before peacefully walking out with the bomb.

3)The rotterdam level in the biker gangs base. Kill al the guards in the open compound and warehouse to the left of starting position before walking in with an ak74 from the dead guards and killing everyone. I find it funny when you kill all the bikers and prostitutes in the music room and hear the lyrics "I AM IMMORTAL" and all aound are the recently deceased. Quite adequate music for the occasion, No?

So what do you think are your favourite levels for the silent assassin rating or mass muederer rating?

reply

I would have to say that my favorite level is the one with the big hotel. I just liked roaming around the place checking things out before i went and did the job. And does anyone know a good way to beat the last level in hitman 2? its really making me angry.

Well, that last level in hitman 2 is hard as most of the gurds are packing sniper rifles that will kill you in two shots. Although stealth can be thrown out the window for this mission, once you are in the church, being quiet and using silenced pistols will help alot when moving about. To begin with, in the coutyard where the level begins, you will notice the two guards; guard one walks the whole perimeter of the courtyard while guard two covers the double door leading to your weapons shed. Now, what you can do is wait for guard on eand two to be on oposite sides of the courtyard and then make a mad dash for your shed. Just run past guard two, throught the double doors run off the path, don't run along the curving path as a sniper is nearby. Run off the path, run to the back of the shed where the trees are and run between the shed and the wall to the front of the shed; enter the shed and get a big gun like a spas12 or weapon of your choice, with amoo and waste the guards who quickly rush the shed. With three-four dead guards, you now must take care of the sniper located on the small ruins located beside the church. So, grab the dragonuv sniper rifle, but don't bother collecting ammo as most guards use this rifle, so take their ammo. Walk out o the shed and walk back between the shed and the wall to the water well. Stay behind the well and aim the firle towards the top of the small ruins ahead of you where you should see a man with dragonuv rifle. Shoot him dead and collect his ammo. Now, enter the door to the church located near the ruins where you will find a lone guard patrolling the cellar. Wait until his back is turned on you and shoot him with a silenced weapon of your choice. Now leave the cellar by the way you came, return to the weapons shed and pack up on all the weapons and ammo you can. Don't bother with stealth at the moment. Walk over to the front entrance of the church walk in the doors and waste the two guards by any means possible. Just remember that the guards in this level are very lazy and are not likely to leave their positions to check out gunfire. Take the door on the left of the entrance hall and sneak/walk up the stairs. crouch by the door directly at the top of the stairs and select a powerful weapon, such as the silverballers. Open the door and quickly shoot the two guards. Sneak across the balcony to the opposite door, go through and sneak slowly down the stairs, aiming your pistols at the same time. You will see a guard standing at the bottom of the stairs, so shoot him. Now return to the top of the stairs and take the door on the left. In front of you will be a guard with rifle observing the church hall. Select a silenced pistol or weapon of choice and blast him. Be careful as a noisy weapon will concentrate all the guards atttention onto that balony, especially if the guard falls over the railing. Now select the sniper rifle, pull back and shoot the other guard on the balcony straight ahead of you. Be careful as he may spot you and give chase. If that happens, duck behind the railings, pull out the silverballers and blast him when he is close enough. With that done, sneak back across the balcony where you shot the two guards. Walk through the door to the stairway and walk over to the other door. Look through the keyhole and you will see two guards, one close with his back to you and the other guard at the other end of the balcony. Quickly open the doors, and shoot the nearest guard withe the silverballers, then quickly close the doors. Return to the balcony where you shot the two guards keep to the wall and aim your sniper rifle towards the back right hand ide of the church on the balcony where that sniper is situated. Look for him amidst the pillard and shoot him dead. With that done, you have control of the balcony. Now sneak to the balcony where you killed the sniper. stand up slowly and you should see a sniper below you acroos the church hall on his own, shoot him. Now sneak across the balcony to the door that is locked. Turn around and down below is about three snipers who are unsure of your location. Pick onewho you can shoot(the railing is in the way) and shoot him. Now unlock the door behind you and walk along the curved hallway to the other side of the church. Unlock that door and sneak out onto the balcony. From this viewing point you should be able to see about three snipers remaining. Two below the opposite balcony and one down by the confession box where Sergei and the priest are located. Now move and try to place a pillar between you and the sniper by the confession box, or he will cause you trouble in trying to kill the other snipers. Now take your time, observing the other remaining snipers. Try to aim in thir direction before standing up and shooting them and then duck and move, so they can't lock onto your exact. With all but one sniper dead, i.e. the sniper by the confession box, sneak back to the enrtrance hall of the church. Now take the door to the right of the middle locked door. Go through the door, don't go up the stairs but sneak through the door beside the stairs that leads into the main hall of the church. Sneak up behind the final sniper and shoot, blast him, slit his throat, whatever makes your day. You should now receive a message saying that all the gurds are dead and you should kill Sergei. If not, check to see if anyone else is still alive and kill them. With all gurds dead, make your way to the confession box and bs sure to have a sniper rifle nearby ans arm yourself with the silverballers. Once inside the confession box, aim at the heart insigniain the wall of the box and shoot. A short movie clip will show Sergei being hit in the arm. He will lose his cool, hit the priest and burst out of the confession box. Whatever you do, don't leave the confesssion box or chase him as he has a spas 12 shotgun and will make light work of you. Inside, pick upm your sniper rifle and run to the church alter, crouch behind it and aim striaght ahead to the balcony where Sergei will be soon. Once Sergei is on the balcony, aim at his head, pull the trigger and bam you have completed the last level of hitman 2.

3. Traditions of the Trade

1. Traditions of the Trade was my favourite, mainly because it was one of the few levels that was set in an entirely neutral location, apart from a few rooms, plus the shift in atmosphere as you approach when you near the crime scene was such a nice touch.

2. The Seafood Massacre. Just because it was fun.

And just going nuts on Hunter and Hunted is always fun!

yeah! HOLY i almost turned into a ghost when I seen that. that has to be my fav though cos of all the rooms you can hide stuff in and the metal detectors and jumpin between balconies to kill the first guy.

Yeah, gotta love those moralistic undertones.

My favourite hitman mission by far is the Traditions of the Trade. It's completely neutral and it's fun just walking about and exploring without the fear of getting pumped full of polygonal lead because you're exploring. Definitely the most atmospheric and well put together levels I've ever seen.

My second favourite would have to be Hunter and the Hunted for just how hard it is. I'm still trying to get Silent Assassin on that thing.

My third favourite seems to be a recurring theme here, but it's a tie between "the Meat King's Party" and "Beldingford Manor".

Ive only played the demo verison of Hitman:Contracts.Thats the russian level,i like it when that fuchs guy goes on the toilet.

reply

Man, I can't remember the whole game because I played it 2 years ago & sometimes confuse the lvls with lvls from metal gear solid and splinter cell. Anyway, I DO remember the manor and the hotel. That was how I got hooked on hitman.
The manor (I can't forget the watchdogs and all the thinking I had to do), hotel(really fun dressing up as a bellboy? or was it a janitor?), and the one where u kill the lawyer and the fat guy and get the client's daugter's hand (man that butcher was a sicko but had fun trying to figure out the whole chicken thing:0)

For me, it's any mission where the cool SWAT music plays. I am referring to that music that plays whenever you go up against a SWAT team, so it'd be the Asylum, the docks, and then of course Hunter and Hunted mission.

I love Traditions of the Trade because there are so many ways to accomplish your objectives, but my recent favorite has been Deadly Cargo. I used to have a hard time with it, because I always blew my cover when I killed the target, and got hit by the sniper on the way off the ship. Only recently did I realize that after killing the target, I could pick up the detonator, and walk out of the area peacefully.
