The movie was good, but the book so much better
I thought the movie was very well acted, filmed, and scripted, but there are so many details (and differences) that makes the book so much better.
shareTaking out the history of Trachimbrod and turning what was 1/3 to 1/2 of the novel into an anecdote really reduced the emotional power of the movie. It was still good, but just didn't have the emotional impact that the book had.
