Is Nick Nolte one of the famous guest appearances?

My wife and I watched this movie and were absolutely sure that we saw Tony Danza and Tom Arnold despite the fact that their names were no where in the credits.

The other guy with the small dog that poops all over the lawn when Burt Reynolds used the telephone jack... who was that guy? I think it's Nick Nolte but my wife disagrees.
