Every team that has beaten the Yankees since 2001 has won the World Series. The Diamondbacks did it in 7 in '01. Then the Angels beat them in the ALDS (the ALDS? OMG pitiful) and won the WS. Then the Marlins beat them in the WS in 6. Now, of course, after beating the Empire in 7, we win the World Series.

You know, the Diamondbacks influence must have rubbed off on all the other teams. Since 2000, New York can't claim a championship. No one thought A-Rod wouldn't win, but he still hasn't played in a World Series game. Maybe they SHOULD keep him.

By the way, if we won Game 7 in '03, do you think we could've won it all?

Yeah....matchups in June have a real influence on games played 4 months later....

technically we did win game 7 in 03. giambi homered twice, when in fact he was admittedly on the roids and should not have been allowed to play, which means those two runs should not have counted, and the sox should have been the winners.
