I really admire him as actor, since I saw him in Spiderman 1 & 2. I have envy because he's going to be with the beautiful Sophia Myles in Tristan & Isolde. But, I wonder, how would be James as a director?

just asking, what exactly was he good in. I am sure some one has seen the movie "sonny" ,it in opinion was terrible. I saw "city by the sea" when it first came out, it takes alot to mess up a De niro movie but franco did. I do know maybe there is some thing i have not seen yet.

What did he do wrong in "City by the Sea??" Not only does he do an excellent portrayl of an over-addicted druggie, but he follows with an amazing emotional scene between himself and De Niro.
When you talk about [i]your[i/] opinion of "Sonny" are you criticizing his performance or the actual movie? Even though that movie got horrible reviews, critics still gave James Franco acclaim.
He even got applause for his work on Freaks & Geeks, a show he wasn't even the star of. And, I think that we will see even better performances in his movies to come.
I'm not trying to persuade you, I'm just trying to answer your question.

Arnold Schwarzenegger won a golden globe. freaks and geeks was a good show, but as you noted not really a franco show, but i will give you that one. however, sonny was horrible from start to finish. the story, the acting, the direction, you name it and i like harry dean stanton and mena suvari. what else does any one think he was good in?

i am always amazed how every one likes to play johnny badass on the net. relax dude it is just an opinion on a message board (that is what they are for). i realize your bitter because you wanted to be in movies but you sadly live in your parents basement(just guessing but iam sure that i am not that far off). however, i think you should go practice saying "do you want fries with that" and let the adults disscus.

well i am very discusted at what i have been reading. ive seen the spider man movies and just recently saw tristan and isolde..i too think he is a very talented actor and will have many more staring roles in the future..

Oh yeah, he can do no wrong! ;) :))) I've seen Tr&Is, City by the Sea, Annapolis, Spiderman, Spiderman2, even a movie he just pops-up in Never been kissed - and looking forward to see James Dean and this one too - and I can say it cross my heart: he's too beautiful! :))))
Just kidding: I meant he's very good as an actor and I think he's on a going-up carrier path so we'll see him in other good actings. Can't wait! ;)
