I may be wrong, but the master's voice in the movie was identical to sergei bezrukov's voice. It was like everytime he talked I kept thinking it was dubbed or something. I couldn't bear the possibility that pronounciation, tone ect. could be so similar. Is it just me, or did anybody notice something like that? And if you did why do you think that is(we will exclude the possibility of a a simple similarity for now)?

but could you tell me more about why, or where you heard that from?
Well, Bortko felt that Galibin's voice was too weak for Master, and he also wanted to transfer an analogy between The Master and Yeshua. I even believe that at one point of the pre-production, it was suggested that Bezrukov will play both roles.
Galibin himself had no idea about it, and spent his time in the studio doing his own voiceover. He was completely shocked when he heard Bezrukov's voice coming out of his mouth.
I've read that in various articles here and there.

shareJust saw this discussion.... Have you also noticed, the voice of the Pilatus' secret police chief is actually that of Oleg Basilashvili, who plays Woland. The whole project seems like an artistic disaster.

shareFor a number of reasons: poor casting - why would you have another star dubbing the voice of a lead character? long and unnatural dialogues that do not have a punch to them, unsuble use of special effects....Just compare it to Bortko's other works - "Idiot", "Sobachye Serdce"...

To me, the series are worse than a disaster - it's mediocre. Most actors are actually some of the best in Russia, but here they give amateurish performance - as if they were reading the text for the first time and seriously trying to do it "right". So the problem seems to be with directing. "Idiot" miniseries directed by Bortko were a work of a genius, but what worked for Dostoevsky obviously doesn't work here. No depth, no insight, only flat uninspired and more or less accurate "word to word" translation of Bulgakov masterpiece to film. Very sad - so much energy and talent wasted...
