music

whats the music thats played throughout the movies? is it really by johann strauss?

reply

The music is of Igor Kornelyuk and it is brilliant! I couldn't imagine that the former pop music composer will be so good!

reply

He stole the theme from Sergey Kurekhin's "Gospodin Oformitel" that why it's so good. ;-)

reply

Yes seriously. Music was completly ripped from Kuryokhin. But Kuryokhin was a genious, and Kornelyuk is nothing more but a commercial pop artist. Perhaps the best piece was the Jerusalem theme. BG should have done the music, but he would have refused, I'm sure.

reply

YOU ARE ALL MAD!!!

This music was so brilliant I can't express it with words! It was about John Williams level!

P.S. Check out my sig!

My name... is Azazello. But that doesn't tell you anything, does it?

reply

John Williams also plagarized. Especially Star Wars. But even so, have you even heard Kurehin's music?

reply

does anyone know where i can find a recording of the music, apart from the movie?

neither of the above links seem to work!

reply

Please may i respectfully bother you and ask: what is the slow piece of music played on violin when Woland is on the theater stage in episode 3 (is it also by Igor Kornelyuk?)?.. Thank you in advance, cheers.

reply

Partly the music was (a bit modified) from old Soviet cartoon "Antoshka".

"Tili-dili trali-vali tili-dili
Tili-dili tili-dili trali-vali
Eto my ne prohodily,
Eto nam ne zadavali"

(Indeed Bortko did not study history in his school,
- ancient Romans in trousers! LOL!)

reply

LOL, that was good :)

In fact the choir sings "INRI, INRI, Abra Kadabra" and I cannot even begin to express how deep that is. I think Bach, Mozart and Shnitke are silly kids next to the great composer of the music to this cheapo.

reply

> INRI, INRI, Abra Kadabra
Holy crap! I would never guess that this was what they were singing! Wow! Now that's stupid... Apart from that and the fact that the theme was stolen, I love it! I mean, I seriously love the theme of this movie and I think that it fit really well to the visuals.

reply

The music was great because it was all stolen from very credible classical and modern composers...:) the arrangment was extremely poor thou. They should've not saved on the orchestra.:)))

reply

It's by Korneljuk, and he should be executed for the complete lack of creativity. C'mon, there are only two themes throughout all 10 series, argh! And they used the same theme for scenes with completely different moods... I needed something much more serene than that Abra-Kadabra chanting for the final flight.

Gr!

reply

This music sounds like a resemblence to the "Omen"'s main theme. It's quite appropriate, but they defenitly overused it.

I agree-- for an adaptation of a novel with dozens of musical references, only two repetitive themes? The soundtrack was disappointing IMHO.
