Ages ago I caught half of one episode of this (at least I think it was). One of the families was thinking of leaving because someone in the family, not on the show, was injured or killed in a car accident. Was it this? I'm sure that the show was on PBS; could it have been "Frontier House"? I've been dying to figure out what it was and I've newly discovered "Regency House Party" so it dawned on me that it was probably part of this series.

Yes, it was Colonial House. The Governer's daughter's fiance was killed in a car crash, so she decided to go back to the "modern world". Later on, though, she came back to the project. Hope that helps :)

sure, no problem...Colonial House is one of my favorite of the PBS "House" series...although I must say the best is probably the original, Frontier House...
