Austin and Hogan

Who would you rather pay to see, Austin or Hogan?

For me it would quite certainly be Austin.

Hogan. He will always be better than Austin.

GIT-R-DONE!!!!!

reply

I'm not too sure about that.

reply

I agree. In my opion Hogan has never been that fun to watch.

reply

Hogan was just a spirit for little kiddies, + he's fussy about who he works with, let alone put over.

Austin appeals to all ages, and works with anyone, and will put anyone over if needed.

Austin would hammer Hogan, and would have a bigger recep at the stadium

Amen!

reply

I think it really depends on what stadium we are talking about. Montreal has been known to welcome Hogan with standing ovations lasting well over 10 minutes. Hogan is still on top of the game, too. If he came back, the ratings would skyrocket. Could you imagine the ratings if Vince somehow got Hogan vs. Austin?

Hogan was not a good wrestler, where as Austin was. In a wrestling match, Austin would probably win. But the WWE isn't about competition, it's about entertainment. For all he's done, and for all he's still doing, Hogan is the better entertainer.

But that's just my opinion. I'm not saying you're wrong, I just disagree with you.

reply

I could see Hogan as very influential, but no one in the WWF's bussiness entertains like Austin.

reply

Hogan isn't as entertaining to me as everyone makes it seem. Austin is way more electrifying. I defenetely like him better.

Besides, Stunner > Leg Drop

reply

Agreed.

reply

Anyone who can main event 10 wrestlemanias, like hogan, has to be better than austin.

reply

Hogan never main-evented 10 WM's, plus he spent more years in the WWF/WWE than Austin as well. Austin got fired from WCW and did the the hard way, Hogan used steroids there's no denying that.

reply

He did. He main-evented the first nine WM's, plus WM 19. He didn't really main-event WM 18. By the way, I know he used steroids, but he still main evented the WM's.

reply

There is no denying Hogan's inspiration to Wrestling, I think that Austin doing things the hard way the way he did makes him a better draw than Hogan.

reply

You're right. If this match were to be 10 years earlier, Hogan might just barely win. But, nowdays, Hogan is way older than steve, which gives steve a better chance of winning.

I enjoy watching old school wrestling,I have the wm 1-13 collection on VHS, and when I found out there was a hogan v. warrior(wm 6) match I was dissapointed, because I am a fan of warrior and hogan. And if you,(whateverman42) already haven't seen the ending to wrestlemania 8, you should. Warrior saves hulk from a double team by Papa Shango and Sid Justice.

reply

[deleted]

The only return Ive heard of that was most recent was his big Wrestlemania XII return. By the way, have you heard of when papa shango made ultimate warrior throw up on live television?

reply

I heard Austin Vs. Hogan is a possibility for WM 21. Actually from what I heard Austin was supposed to wrestle Hogan at WM 18, but said Hogan was not worth wrestling against, and instead it turned out to be Rock Vs. Hogan.

I also heard there is at least a 50% sting will be in WM 21. They were also trying to bring sting in 2002 to fight Steve Austin at WM 18, before they wanted Austin Vs. Hogan, which eventually baecame Austin Vs. Scott Hall.

Austin as i dont like hogan
but then again...look at my name lol :)

Depends on the reason.

If it is to see the person kick ass, then Austin.

If it's to see the person get his ass kicked, then Hogan.

And I strongly disagree with whoever said that bringing Hogan back would bring back ratings. Hogan is the very reason ratings went down in the WWE to begin with. Back in 2002 they pushed Hogan as something other than a nostalgia act by putting the title back on him and as a DIRECT result, ratings plummeted, buyrates bombed and gate attendance dropped to the point that for the first time there were actually empty seats in arenas, just like WCW years ago, BECAUSE OF HOGAN!

For years the fans had been treated to a much more superior product with great athletes who got to where they were by paying their dues and putting on great matches, whereas Hogan schemed, manipulated and betrayed to get to the top at least 10 years after his expiration date had passed, stinking up the arenas with such abortions as his cage matches with Piper and Savage, as well as the so called, "most anticipated rematch in our sport" against the Warrior at Halloween Havoc. To say that fans were going to be satisfied with Hogan matches after being witnessed to Benoit, Angle, Austin, Jericho and others is pure ignorance.

He's been worth absolutely nothing to the WWE since the early 90's and nothing to pro wrestling in general since 1997 when he single handedly destroyed the biggest fued in WCW history with the "fast count that was actually slow" crap during Starrcade 97.

Fans aren't stupid enough to forget what killed WCW and what gave it such flattering nicknames such as "Wheel Chair Wrestling"; it was catering to run-down, money grubbing slime like Hogan, along with Nash and Hall and the like. I'll admit Russo's drug-induced booking didn't help matters any, but the damage had long been done, and too many fans were turned off and into the WWE juggernaut by this point to care.
