I think most of you are film makers and you know you will never be able to produce a setting and feeling like day or nightwatch. It's flawed but it still twice the movie than any other hollywood production over the last 15 years.

This movie felt real....you know real? Its something other than realistic. In realistic movies a person starts crying so the viewer gets an opinion about the character. The character is emotional just like the viewers. wow so realistic.
In real movies things happen...thats all.

Your explanation for me not really liking this movie makes just as much sense as the plot of this movie.

it was about vampires and ludicrous battle between light and dark forces

I think they meant "real" in the context of the fictional story.

I really appreciate you review of the movies in such a positive light and also figuring in the professional slant on it. I like the historically accurate concept of the Dark vs. Night of the eretics, the heretics to the Russian Orthodox Church, light and dark witches, sorcerers, etc.

Indeed born with a gift but taking a traumatic event or death to awaken them and last further the change. There is not that much AT ALL available about vampirism in Russia or Slavic Paganism. But this is built very accurately
