Was this movie meant as a joke?

I can't believe the filmmakers meant for this movie to be taken seriously. It has some of the most amateurish acting I've ever seen, and the script is completely idiotic. I'm going to assume the goal was to make some sort of campy cult classic. Well, they got the "campy" part right, anyway.

I agree - this movie was horrible. The only thing that got me to rent it was the back covered compared it to "Silent Hill" - ha... in their DREAMS.

I don't think it was campy or even hokey but I don't think it was to be a serious movie. It was fun to watch in the dark with the family. I enjoyed it and so did those who saw it with me.I liked the two lead actresses and they were good opposites for each other sweet and wicked. It is nice to see more than just the tv actors doing ovies or the same actors all the time. The small town type actors were so real and I thought we got to see a lot of the nature of the Green River town. I really felt they were deep in the woods.

Movies are supposed to be fun and this took me on a trip that wasn't some boring ride. I liked it.
