choke

kind of reminds me of "choke" by chuck palahniuk except sort of upside-down

reply

first thing that came to mind for me too.. interesting

reply

buns for this, now if choke ever gets turned into a movie ignorant folks will call it a ripoff

"do i look like i fought in the revolutionary war? am i wearing a three cornered hat?"

reply

nah i dont think so since its completely reversed in choke he's making others feel like a hero, also thats all such a sub plot in choke not the main story, AND im sure if they every made choke a movie...itd be 10x better :)

reply

if choke were made into a film, i don't think it would be able to find a mainstream market. that book is really amazing though. this movie will proabably be like hes some dopey kid that finds out he can make some money or wahtever. i really hope they can make choke someday

reply

when i read the plot out line i thought of choke too. it's funny that some of us did because it really doesnt have the same plot...

reply

crazy... I thought of "Choke" instantaneously when reading the plot. But i bet "Choke" would make a way better movie, Palahniuk's the man.

reply

I too instantly went "hey, that's the plot of choke, for the most part"
im still waiting to see how they are going to pull off the movie version of Invisible Monsters. but Choke is my favorite of his books.

reply

"Choke" has been greenlit with Sam Rockwell to star as Victor.

reply

you'll have to spell this out for me. I've read Choke and the plot outline from the film's review and do not see the connection.

Man beats up rapist and becomes a hero.

Man fakes choking at a restaurant and becomes their friend/pet project/thing to feel good about themself.

reply

you idiot, it's because "he decides to set up more would-be disasters in order to receive even more praise."

Where was that in the outline?

It's there, you just can't see it.

Okay, show it to me

I just did

Oh, right. Thanks.

reply
