Sienna Miller miscast?

At the time of this film's release I was quite dismissive of Sienna Miller's performance...I just thought she's a *beep* actress! On reflection and after seeing her impressive and charismatic turns in interview and factory girl and watching Alfie again (she's the best thing about that mess of a film) I actually think she is a good actress but just not right for Casanova. What does everyone else think?

does anyone have any opinions?

Sienna plays trampy eratic drug-abusing characters fairly well, I guess, because that is close to her actual personality. Anything else is to far of a stretch for her.

I don't think she was miscast at all in this movie. I thought her and Heath had great chemistry together. She's wonderful as Francesca

I think they should've just given her some blond hair. Her face is beautiful and her body is bangin'.

She just doesnt look right with that red curly hair.

Man I wish heath was still alive, he's so awesome. You can see by his performance in this movie that he was born to be the joker.

Honestly, I'm a bit shocked how well and fit Sienna plays as Francesca Bruni. There's no complain at all for her performance in this movie.

She did good. I think she should be cast in more period movies, she does very well in them. Like the edge of love. Also, I think she should have had brown hair, not curly red. at least it should have been straight.

sienna has always been a big meh for me..she is kind of pretty in a smoke too much and sun too much rundown kind of way but not that great an actor

I loved Sienna in this movie (it's the only one I've ever seen her in). As far as her playing an intelligent character, I think the scenes in which she and Casanova are parrying over philosophy and love (side by side on horseback and in the puppet show scene)were brilliantly acted. She plays a character that you can believe Casanova would have fallen in love with. I wish all of her roles would be more like this one!

I could not buy her as an Italian woman of that period. She just did not look or ACT Italian enough.
