What makes a bad horror movie really bad

And I mean bad in the bad way, not "this movie is so bad it's actually a classic."

1. No humor (takes itself too seriously)
2. No character development (we didn't even care about anyone but Preston Rogers)
3. Quick and cheap deaths (3 hunters get grabbed and dragged into the woods,
Otis Wilhelm and the girl in the shower were the only good deaths)
4. Lack of gore/cheese (to at least make it funny or more horror)
5. No memorable music or scene
6. Dumb characters making illogical choices (granted, this happens in most horror flicks)
7. Lack of catch lines
8. Monster too silly looking (but in the sad and not funny way)
9. No scene in the girls house, lack of perspective.
10. Silly ending

Otis certainly makes this movie a trial to sit through with his relentlessly obnoxious behaviour. He'd probably be considered a bad candidate to be a prison guard, and yet a psychiatrist has placed Preston in this oaf's care for the weekend. And yet despite being the patronizing "oh-don't-get-yourself-worked-up-about-nothing" guy you hate in a movie like this, Otis triumphantly appears at just the right moment (after having been drugged to shut him down), and complete with action movie hero-type line ("eat this ass-monkey!"), bravely swings an axe into Bigfoot's back. It was just too big a shift in character to swallow. Very annoying character.
