WHAT A RACIST SHOW!

[sarcasm] Did you notice how there are no black girls on this show? OH MY GOD! What a racist show. Are black girls not good enough for them? GOD! Only the white girls made it to the top anyway. Well then again a swan is white...[/sarcasm]

You need to get out more (or at least switch channels once in a while). White swans are not the only variety. Go to images.google.com and search for "black swan". You may learn something new today.

Didn't you notice the SARCASM in the first post.

I think the reason is that black women (at least the ones I know) are raised with a different set of criteria for beauty and are too self-confident and self-respecting to think that some lipo or a nose job would have any meaningful effect on their lives.

Md you are so sweet to think me smart enough to learn something today but you may also learn something new. Here is a definition I have gotten from the dictionary. Maybe it will help you learn something new.

Thats exactly right. All my white friends (many of whom were thin and pretty) constantly complained about their looks. But my black and hispanic friends never made a peep. Many of them were not perfect either, but you didn't hear them complaining about it.

Of course, there are SOME Black women and some hispanic women who feel that way about their looks. But our cultures are just different when it comes to beauty.

Then explain to me why do they get their hair straightened

Also, I expect an apology or I'm going to have to report you.

reply

Black women have multiple reason for hair straightening. Some do it for vanity but most do it because it's more manageable then their natural hair.

I have a question for the OP, why doesn't anyone ever say "Why aren't there any Asian's?".. It's always a black thing.

there was a black girl in the second series

I'm black, and I know there are some things about my looks I would like to improve on. Some things just can't be changed by nature (unless you get plastic surgery). But mostly it's just that I feel like I could fare better to go to the gym every once in a while. But I don't OBSESS about my looks by no means. That doesn't mean I don't like to look nice either though. I know my physical flaws, but I don't make that the topic of my conversation 24/7. I try to say GOOD things about myself and my body. And honestly, to tell you the truth, if given the chance to have plastic surgery, I'd probably chicken out.

I think black people are just more positive on their looks. Unlike white people they think big butts are hot(totally agree!). While white people are just more critical on themselves. Anyway, black people may not have appeared on The Swan, but there are quite a handful of black people on Extreme Makeover.

I dont think it was intentional not to have any black women in the first series. It wasnt intentionally racist because they had a black woman in the second series, and like most the posts before have said, black women (or the ones I know) just tend to be less shallow and more appreciative of themselves so they wouldnt feel the need to go on a ridiculous show like this.
