When I was kid, I saw Klaus Nomi do a performance on the old grey whistle test, blew me away. The interview was great too.

Years later, a friend of mine, Joe Breeze told me stories about hanging out with Klaus. For such an extravagant character, he was also very diciplined, getting up at 5 in the morning to bake his pastries to sell at local coffee shops. Joe got all teary eyed when he talked about him, must have been quite a guy.
