Who's the worst enemy in Ninja Gaiden?

For me, those damn ghost pirahnas are a pain in the ass. It takes some time to get use to flailing your Flail and then run a bit, but these guys made a very hard game so much harder because once they bite you, you won't move, and the more they come, they more they take your health. I hate those damn pirahnas.

The piranhas could be easily beaten by jumping mid-combo and starting over as soon as you land. And beating a swarm of them gives you a TON of Karma.

For me, it was definitely the Berserkers. I can hardly land a hit on them, but the later challenges wouldn't be nearly as hard without them.

The worst enemy is the fire troll/lizard type thing and the fire sword armoured guys. They are really tough. Having said that there is always one weapon that works well I just stick to the sword on principle.

Having said this none of these come close to the new grey Alma that turns up in the Black Edition. God damn pain in the ass that bitch. The whip lady is also a BITCH.

Those dudes were probably the easiest enemies I encountered when I played Black. Dabi is your friend. Roll back, Forward, Y and you got them dead.

The hardest for me were the Black Cats that could take you down in the air. Fighting them while fighting Satan was certainly interesting.

The little bastards that could grab you and pull you down a level during the tower thing towards the end of the game weren't hard but were damn annoying.

I'm gonna get you, like a spaceboy. Whoa whoa whoa whoa!!!

They're just too damn agile for my liking. It's strange, because they're not hard enough to defeat to be fun to fight, but they're not easy enough to not worry about.

The ghost pirhanas can be really easily handled - with the dragon sword, all you need to do is jump forward (or sideways, backwards, whatever) and hit B. Rinse and repeat when you land. The fish can't latch on to you whilst you're airbourne. And yeah, as a previous poster said - once you defeat 20 of them, you'll begin to seriously reap the rewards.

Though the black spider ninjas are also annoying, though only when you're not experienced enough.

....are really easy if you know how. The trick about fighting them them is to realise that if you have one and only one Berserker in your screen, then that one and only that one Berserker will attack you. The rest will merely circle around doing nothing. It's only when you have two or more in your screen then the trouble starts.

So let's assume you dodged and rolled your way into a view with only one Berserker. Now, while he's white, every attack he does is blockable (when you're close up to him he'll only attack with his sword; he won't use any of his flame attacks). Generally the main attack the Berserker uses comes in two stages: a swipe down, and a lunge. So the easiest thing to do would be to get out your Dragon Sword, hold guard, wait for him to perform his swipe, roll out of the way, and perform a combo swiftly afterwards.
In terms of when they turn black, the same technique can apply. If they pull off their ultimate technique, then it's simply a case of roll-roll-roll until they stop.

A variation on this (and in my experience all it does is to kill them quicker; nothing else) is to use the Vigoorian Flails with the Armlet of Potency. Same technique as before: after the first swipe, roll of the way. when you're done, perform the "Ripping Thunder" technique - hold the analogue stick towards the Berserker, and hit triangle three times. Should take 'em down in three or four reps.
Oh, and to avoid the 'explosion' when the Berserker transforms, it's simply a case of rolling just before the transformation takes place.

True, but they're fairly easily dispatched with a single Izuma drop.

It's not that difficult to do the Izuma drop on the Cat fiends, is it?
