Malick can't tell a story.

Ever have a friend when you were a kid who didn't know how to tell a joke or even relate an event without going on and on and filling the account with mundane or irrelevant or plain boring stuff? Well someone years ago must have had such a friend and that friend grew up to be Terence Malick. For God's sake get it out man.

Some people are just crappy storytellers. Now, that won't matter to some movie watchers, but it matters to me. How guys like TM get funding and maintain an audience will remain a mystery to me. TM suffers from the cinematic equivalent of constipation. Or rather, we suffer from his affliction.

I've drawn a line under this guy.

True. I saw the trailer for this in theatres, before I knew who Malick was or what he had directed, and I remember thinking how amazing the movie looked and how awesome it was to have a live action, gritty, realistic version of this story, not "pocohontas". The action looked cool, the acting and cinematography looked good, and then I saw the movie....

BORING AS HELLLLL. It's like watching a 2.5 hr long music video with the volume all the way down. Jiminy christmas, this movie is bland.

I loved this movie.

Then again, I don't need to be spoon fed a plot.

It is your right not to like Malick's work. It is not your right to say someone should committ suicide you *beep* You wish death on any artist whose work you don't like? God.

Jesus, you have problems.

Seems more like you cannot follow one. One that's told the Malick way, and isn't just about neat and tidy hopping from one plot point to another, at any rate.

No, it's not that he can't tell a story. It's that the way his stories unfold aren't what people are accustomed to. They're like nostalgic memories of a previous life and life isn't a linear experience.

This movie is brilliant. The music, editing, and silence of the actors tells this story so poignantly, poetically and beautifully. Just a look, a touch, the prolonged silence is electrifying. This is a deep and touching film. Only those out of touch with their soul or operating on a lower consciousness level don't understand it.

... End of line.

Ha ha, someone is almost entirely missing the point of Malick. Sucks to be you.
