As far as actors are concerned, each can do well in films which fit their personalities. If I were a princess in the film..... well, neither one was a good option - colonizing scum, etc - lol
As far as the actors are concerned, I'd say Farrell seems like a dude who can be trusted a bit more - I'm basing this on his eyes - not his eyebrows -
Bale's acting was crap because this role did not fit him well - he was supposed to play a charismatic fellow, but he wasn't selling it at all - he was saying kind things to the girl, but his eyes were dead of any emotion, truly reminiscent that of a psycho - hence american psycho was a remarkable fit for him. So, of the two, I'd say Farrell played the more charismatic and believable character - if he was supposed to be playing a liar though - I think the two actors should have been playing each other's role instead - Christian Bale can't sell emotion, but he can sell psycho and lying personality well.
Once again, I'm not here gaslighting Bale - but like Farrell's acting - Bale also has a limited acting ability. Farrell is better at selling emotionally distraught and overfilled character, while Bale is better at playing cold, but keen character.
