yeah i agree too because he was all like "Yuk" he said that kinda romanticly then he said "Yuk, why are you wearing Alison's shirt?" coz he was just covering up! And how could you get them mixed up just because they had the same shirt on! hello wouldn't you know Alison has Blonde hair, Erica has Brown Hair!!!! Alexander Cappelli is hot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was wondering that too at first, but as if he wouldn't know. Alison and Erica look completely different physically. Erica's hair probably would have blended into the darkness, but Alison's would have been noticable, plus she's taller. So he would have been able to make out who it was. And, remember in a scene before that Barry said he was watching and saw Erica sneak out when she went to make a phone call to her mum? So he was probably watching her this time as well. And, Barry's sneaky like that anyway! And, he's not an idiot!
Also, I agree that his first reaction when he says 'Yuk' seems like he knew it was her, but then said her name differently the second time to cover up because he was probably embarrased because she, at that point, didn't seem as interested in it as he did. Plus, I think he'd been gagging to kiss her throughout the entire movie and thought that would be a good oppotunity! And at the end when he refers to that night and says that next time he is going to stick in the tongue is a pretty good indication that he's confessing because by then he's realised that she does like him aswell.
And, I think that the reason Barry was at Alison's house was purely on a friendship level. I think that was a trick on the audience to make it look like something was going on so it seemed that Alison was stealing something else away from Erica, even though Erica hadn't realised her feelings for Barry at this point. It also ties in with that part later on when Erica is casting her Romeo and thinks Barry is smiling at her and then realises that he's actually smiling at Alison, which increases her jelousy! Plus, when Alison finds out that Erica and Barry kissed at the camp, she doesn't even seem to care and does't react at all to that or make a deal out of it. And, Barry never seems to think that Alison is his type anyway.
By the way- I love this film! Love Alexander Cappelli! Bring it out on DVD already!

i have this on dvd, just watched it today and i think its so funny. My mom and sister found it in an asda store for £6.97 or something like that so some shops over here (the uk) must be selling it, also Barry is gorgeous, did any1 else notice Dillon from neighbours in it aswell? he was wearing glasses and looked a bit of a geek..... still cute though :)

I've seen this movie a million times, and it's pretty clear that Barry knows exactly who Erica is when he kisses her. I disagree that they have chemistry on-screen, though. I liked Barry and Alison together. That scene where they catch Erica spying on them...they're so cute!

i have watched this movie a million times too, i have it saved onto my computer. I think that Barry should have kissed Erica at the end too. I loved how Miss Belmont always seemed to be interupting them. It makes you wonder what would have happend if she hadn't. Any scene involving Barry and Erica is my favourite from the movie. Has anyone else noticed that in the scene where they climb over the rock wall, Barry sticks his tongue out at Erica??? I would love to know why he was at Alison house too.

I think he covered it up only because she wiped her mouth. It was obvious he 'thought' she didn't want him to kiss her, with the way he reacted to her wiping her mouth. He was almost going to tell her he liked her before she did that. I actually thought he was going to kiss her in the kitchen on the first night, but Miss Belmont interupted them :-( lol
I've watched the movie's hundreds of times and i still don't know:
What Barry was doing at Alison's house
and which one Barry smiled at when the bus broke down.
And their relationship is the main reason i want a sequel movie too!!! It's so addictive lol.

I totally agree that Barry knew that it was Erica when he kissed her. If you watch the movie carefully you can pick up certain pieces of dialogue etc. That suggest he has a crush on her. For example at the beginning of the film when everyone is calling her yurkin gerkin etc.If you look at Barry in the background he isnt looking at her or laughing or anything. He's playing with a lighter etc. Then he chases Jedda after Erica leaves her on the side of the road. He was probably watching her the entire time and chased Jedda home so nothing would happen to her sister and get her into more trouble. On the camp he follows her yet again when she leaves her cabin to call her mother. He probably knew it would be one of the only opportunities he would have to talk to her alone, try to impress her etc. Then when the class is trying to come up with an idea for the play and Erica tells everyone her idea he says Okay, Im liking it and everyone then agrees. When the girls are b******* about her he says dont you think your being a bit rough on the gerkin. Then that night he was probably watching her again. Probably thought it was a good opportunity and saw that she was a little upset. He put his hand on her shoulder as to comfort her and also to make her turn. He said her nickname Yuk. Then as soon as she wiped her mouth he tried to cover up his nervousness etc and started to say Yuck and question her but he was trying to see if she did or didnt like him when she asked if he thought she was Alison Ashley and he replied by saying would it make a difference? In this scene I wish they werent interrupted to see what she would say. Then when she tries to act again its up to Barry to tell her she can't which is something u would really do if u really liked someone. Then after she slaps him he pushes Tom as if to say I blew it with her Im an idiot. Eventually in the end when he says next time Im sticking the tongue in pretty much says it all. On the Alison/ Barry note maybe Alison sorta knew he liked Erica cause when ms bellmont says that'll teach you for locking tonsils with Barry Hollis and Alison doesnt look surprised, jealous nothing she just sorta scowls at Marga for laughing.
