First I thought they were Pakistani security men of the General but then it was oblivious they lived in the US and were citizens as they were Secret Service men but then they were guarding a children's party so it seemed they were rent a cops.

That element of the story seemed pretty implausible. They seemed to be security guards for that general, but I mean, come on? Who hires Pakistanis for that? It's not exactly a profession they are known for.
Um I'm pretty sure they were Indian.

I think they were personal bodyguards for a foreign dignitary. The person can be an ambassador, or whatever. And I don't think they were guarding the party - they were just waiting outside as their boss or his kids were at the party.
