question for 'beat street' fans...

first of all i realize that beat street is not a good movie. This is a question for people who have seen the movie (several or at least a few times).

Does one scene remind you enough of a scene from beat street to feel almost like an homage? I mean the scene when the two lead characters from the Graffiti Artist make their first piece together and then get chased by the cops (thought to be bums). Didn't this feel like the scene in Beat street at the end when Ramo and Double K do the 'hip hop you don't stop' mural and then end up chasing spit.
1. When flip demanded that he do the outline and Rupture fill it in, it reminded me of when Ramo starts the outline and asks Kenny 'fill that in with red'.

2. The camera angle following the hand spraying the line downwards as the outline has begun in both scenes.

3. The cop in the far distance (first thought to be a bum) in Graffiti artist that chases Flip and Rupture. The shot reminded me of when Spit shows up in the distance in the beat street scene. Both are silhoutted, showing up at the end of the painting process, in the distance, looking like a bum, etc.

just an observation....

ps. i just saw the graffiti artist for the first time. i didnt think the graffiti was that good either (as it is said in other posts here). It must be the case that some pieces were done NOT by the actors as it was when it showed them writing the pieces (especially the quick throw-ups). When flip and rupture first get together to write, then take pictures of each other in front of their names, it was obviously someone else that painted them...
