"I watched this movie last night, which stars an old buddy of Jean-Claude's named DIDA DIAFAT. Dida is a French guy who studied kickboxing at one of the genuine Muay Thai schools in Thailand, and then went on to become a champion in Thailand and in France. This movie is based on his real story, and Dida plays himself.

It's a much better movie than I expected it to be, nicely directed, filmed on location in Thailand and France, and has a number of fights which showcase the pure unadulterated form of Muay Thai kickboxing. One thing I have to say about some of those fights: it looked to me like the fighters were actually making contact. Those punches and kicks in many cases looked like they were connecting and causing some real damage.

It's definitely worth checking out. Especially for Van Damme fans, because Dida is a close friend -- almost an acolyte -- of his."
