Thanks guys! Keep up the good work!

Why is it that this movie cost about one tenth of your average Hollywood Blockbuster, yet gets about ten times the amount of bitching?

It might have some flaws, but overall I think this movie is a very valiant effort. Interesting actors, literate script, gorgeous locations. The movie has entertained and stimulated me several times now.

Let's now squabble about the details in the language: if people back then didn't use the actual word *beep* then these guys would probably have used an equivalent of it, a word with the same connotations and emotional charge. For me, language is communication. When one of these warriors (and I see them as a sort of olden day Hells Angels) are thirsty, it communicates better if they say: "Give me a cup of beer!" than if they'd ask for a Horn with Mede - using archaic language would distance the characters from the viewer, and negate the fact that -ultimately- this is a movie about people.

I seem to have lost my point a bit, but just wanted to chime in and thank the filmmakers for this movie!

I also enjoyed this movie a great deal. It was beautifully shot and perfectly captured the mood of the story. I found it very haunting and introspective. And Gerard Butler is so HOTT especially when he is all wet!!!

I agree with you--thought the film was extremely well done--it took you into a
completely alien and different world. The use of Iceland as a background and location is the real star, in a way--it adds So much to the atmosphere of the film.
