He was probably the most evil of all nazis. The other bigshots didn't fool themselves, they were pretty dumb and autistic. But Speer, a considerably intelligent man, fooled and deluded himself, consciously, and repressed it all afterwards.

He was the most intimate friend of Hitler for a reason: Speer was a 'normal' man (unlike ludicrous idiots like Goebbels or Goering), and that's what made Hitler feel comfortable in his ideology. Speer was his mirror and by looking in it, he could legitimize his nazi ideas. If a normal, intelligent man like Speer approved of him, he was safe.

Speer was the only nazi who lied his way to history. The others were too stupid to lie, which got them hanged.

Just to be fair: I really don´t like Goering, but a intelligence test made by US-psychologists in the Nuremberg war prison resulted, that he was the most intelligent of the defendants. He was way ahead Speer.
And Goering, who I dislike too, was also supposed to be a very intelligent man in most disciplines. So he was the best in his examen class and made a doctor´s diploma in "Germanistik" (the science of the German language, don´t know the English word).
But in complexe philosophy he was supposed to be weak.

And concerning the lying-thing: I think, all of the defendents lied, but not so clever as Speer.

What is your proof Hell exists? so how do we know Speer is reading this in hell?.
