Did anybody happen to notice...

...At about the 56:00 mark when the blonde in a blue blouse and black skirt gets out of her car and is entering the party (it's one long shot) she passes a female extra on the sidewalk who slips her something. Then there's no followup to their contact. I thought it was so weird and random that someone here would know exactly what was going on! So...what was that all about?
