which was the more satisfying 'ending' to you? SPOILERS, obviously

Well, obviously the show's still going strong...but, as we all know, they've tried to end the show twice...season 5 and season 8...which "ending" was better to you?

Personally, I have to say season 8...although season 5 is a classic, that last episode in season 8 was an epic finale with the fight against the Meta and Church's speech at the end was surprisingly deep...I've yet to see anything past season 8 (save for a few episodes of season 9 that I now forget because I watched them when they premiered 4 years ago lol) and, I don't want to give a negative impression here (because I do want to see the new seasons, I just haven't got around to it yet) but I feel like watching them will cheapen season 8's perfect ending

What do you guys think?

I loved the ending of season 8, but I do prefer season 5 as I'm quite fond of "and life goes on" kind of endings. After the blood gulch chronicles the show has gotten more and more like a serious drama with a few jokes thrown in. It does this very well, but it's never been quite the same. Never mind the fact that at the time, we all thought season 5 was the ending and that it couldn't have been more perfect. Let's not forget that it too had a surprisingly deep speech from Church.

Season 10 also had a pretty satisfying ending from what I recall, but they did leave it open for the inevitable continuation. They do seem to be leading up to a well and truly final ending in season 13 at the moment, so if you still haven't watched the newer seasons, now might be a good time to do so.
