'Beautiful Boxer' for my university class?

Hi,

I am yet to see "Beautiful Boxer" and needed some advice.

I am doing a class presentation at my university on queer culture and fluid identities. I am particularly looking at the difference between Western and Eastern culture when dealing with homosexuality and transgender.

Is this movie a good movie to screen for a class presentation like this?

And are there any other movies based in asia (with subtitles or dubbing) that could fit my needs?

This movie is a product of Thai culture which is exceptionally tolerant in terms of sexuality. I don't really think you can group Thai culture into "Eastern culture" when dealing with homosexuality and transgender.

But Beautiful Boxer is a great movie and will probably be excellent for your class anyway.
