Ong Bak's a little too extreme to be Muay Thai for me. You gotta see Beautiful Boxer though, great movie dude.

I concur. It starts out with such a low film quailty that I thoiught it would be a let down. Conversly, it's the best film I've seen this year.

wich film are you aiming on movie tech?

I was refering to [i]Beautiful Boxer]/i].

I think Asanee gave a most powerful performance as Nong Tom. This was a rivating movie that had me off my seats. I was so emotinal attached to his sexual identity crisis. Yet he fought for it through out his career to help his family.

Hey, stuurjeding (ben je nederlander?)
I bought a copy from www.dddhouse.com. It's a 2-disc set with "making of" and a couple of interviews, and even the extras have English subtitles, which is a rarity on Asian DVDs. Hope you enjoy!

Although Beautiful Boxer and Ong Bak are both great films, they are very very different films. Because you like one does not mean you will like the other.

Ong Bak is way overrated. And it's more for the Steven Segal like movie fans.
There is more art in Beautiful Boxer

Ong Bak is a no brainer really, horrible storyline and acting but excellent stunts and action. To me, Beautiful Boxer was excellent and it isn't so much a Muay Thai film but a social issue conerning transexuals and the issues that homosexuals have to go through. It's a powerful movie that the progratonist has to go through and the emotional bearing he/she went through all her life
