Is it any coincidence that Zac (in his 20s) totally resembles the Jesus of Suburbia of Green Day's American Idiot? Not only the look, but his character in this film is clearly a Jesus-type figure, with all the religious imagery included. Green Day's album came out the same year as C.R.A.Z.Y., so I wonder if it was a mere coincidence or if it was intended.

"Buddha of Suburbia" was a novel in 1990, then a tv miniseries with a soundtrack by Bowie in 1993. The novel is set in the 70s and early 80s about bisexual teen who grows up watching the world change around him.
